Major Depression in Preschoolers

Medscape Pediatrics reports on the findingsarticle in in the August Archives of General Psychiatry on the depression in preschoolers. Those as young as 3-years old who develop major depression are far more likely than their peers to have depression two years later. Lead author Jean Luby from WashingtonUniversity, adds that depression at this young age is not clinically significant and does not spontaneously resolve. This newly recognized phenomenon calls for early intervention for both parents and preschoolers. Find the original article here.
