H1N1 Virus and Neurologic Complications
According to a study published in the July 24 CDC' Morbidity and Mortality Weekly, mental status changes and seizures have been seen in conjunction with the H1N1 virus. Physicians from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center reported that four patients presented with flu-like illness as well as neurological symptoms, confirmed by ECG. The H1N1 virus was detected in nasopharyngeal specimens. but not spinal fluid. All children were treated and recovered. Read more
