"But I Don't Smoke around the Kids"

The dangers of Third-Hand Smoke" is reported in this New York Times article of January, 2,2009. The carcinogenic elements of smoke lingers on one's clothing and hair, not to speak of household furnishings, even if the smoker is not in the same room as an infant or child. Although the smoke may have disappeard, the hazards remain. "Simply closing the . . . door to take a smoke is not protecting the kids from the effects of that smoke,” concludes the article.
